[Typo3-debian] Help me, the install script fails

Hi there hope somebody can help me.

Ive tried to install TYPO3 on a virtualhost on my testbox.
Tried the tar.gz, the win version (without sumb. link) and with apt-get.

All three methods ends with the same error.
The install script starts, uncomment the die thing, and get to input password (joh316) then on the following page it defaults to step 4 (or 8), and if I click link 1-3 I get a "Cannot find server" page.

What is wrong?
Has anybody experienced the same?

Im out of options, and I really want it to work...
