That means that your gd Install is completely broken; reduce
the apache processes and strace one of the childs. probably you will
find out that php is linked against another version of gd as gd-lib is.

(the pages not being displayed are the pages that require GD)

also, when using telnet or tcpdump you will notice that the apache server will
never adequately answer your request.
