[TYPO3-windows] FW: Typo3Winstaller and GraphicsMagick

Hi Kristian,

You do not particularly need to tell Typo3 to display thumbnails in the backend. If you can render images with the Typo3 Install tool, you should be able to see Icons when you demand the icons. To demand the display of icons, go to the fileadmin (dateiliste) directory containing images. Underneath the list you have the upload button. Underneath the upload button you have a checkbox "display Thumbnails" ("Thumbnails anzeigen"). Check the box. Do you see the icons / thumbnails now?

If not, make sure the WPG_IIS Group and the IUSER_[Hostname] have modify access to all of the following directories:
\fileadmin\ MODIFY (propagate to subfolders, don't inherit from parent)
\typo3conf\				"
\typo3\ext\				"
\typo3temp\				"
\uploads\				"

It is important that you set the permissions to propogate to subfolders and not to inherit from parents so your permissions do not get modified when you change something on a parent directory, and new folder (which are created in the temp directory) inherit the permissions needed. If that does not help, heres my documentation on setting up Image Magick and Ghostscript, with this setup I was able to use the most important features of image processing in typo3

5	ImageMagick and Ghostscript
Thanx to Karl-E. for his support here!
5.1	Ghostscript
Full AI and PDF functionality in typo3
Install newest stable version of GhostScript
*	Execute AFPL Ghostscript-Setup "gs853w32.exe"
*	Zielverzeichnis: "C:\Progs\gs"
*	Include Ghostscript Fonts
*	Add C:\progs\gs\gs8.60\bin; to Windows environment variables Path to
*	Permissions (inherited from C:\Progs):
	System 	Full Control
	IIS_WPG	R & E
	IUSR 		R & E
5.2	ImageMagick
Automatic Picture and Image processing in typo3
http://www.imagemagick.org/download/binaries/
*	Setup "ImageMagick-6.2.6-5-Q16-windows-dll.exe"
*	Install in C:\Progs\ImageMagick
*	"Select Additional Tasks" activate option "Update Executable Search Path"
*	Check success of installation as described in the setup confirmation window.
*	Permissions (inherited from C:\Progs):
	System 		Full Control
	IIS_WPG		R & E
	IUSR 			R & E
*	C:\progs\ImageMagick was added to environment variables - path (check)
*	php.ini is pulled by system and will contain a path to ImageMagick (see below)
*	In MMC - IIS Manger - Web Service Extension add ImageMagick extensions to the allowed Web Service Extensions convert.exe, identify.exe etc... combine.exe does not exist anymore.
*	Ensure that IIS allows to run executables (MMC - IIS - Home settings)
*	Check Windows environment variables (not verified yet - not there after install)
DELEGATE_PATH 		C:\progs\ImageMagic
*	Set "modify" permissions on C:\Inetpub\ImageMagick for IUSR_[Hostname] and IIS_WPG (not verified yet)
*	NETWORKING SERVICE / Local Service execute access to cmd.exe (not verified)
Debugging:
*	put G2 in buffered debug mode (edit your config.php to do this)
*	try NetPBM or ImageMagick again
*	Look in the debug output for where it tries to test the binaries

Anyone?
