[TYPO3-UG US] Strrange behaviour with amount of money in $

Hi there,

I'm in trouble here, when i type an amount of money in the RTE, let's 
say $3500 for example.After saved the RTE still has this information.
But when i render my page the third first char are dropped and typo3 
only rendrer 00.
Have you ever met this trouble ?
Any idea how i can correct this please ?
