[Typo3-UG Spain] problemas con imagettfbbox()

Primero de todo, muchas gracias por los consejos que me disteis para empezar
con las templates. Ya he avanzado mucho y estoy creando una web muy
completa.

El problema en este caso me ha surgido al seguir el manual :
http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/doc_core_tsbyex/GMENU_LAYER/

al intentar crear ese template me da el siguiente error:
 Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagettfbbox() in
/home/ainhize/public_html/quickstart-3.6.2/t3lib/class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php
on line 714

Por lo que he visto en php.net esa funcion requiere las librerias GD library
y Free Type library. Y aunque tengo ambas instaladas, me sigue dando el
mismo error. Mi version de PHP es 4.1.2-7.0.1. No se si esto tendra algo que
ver. Alguien me puede ayudar?
