[TYPO3-UG Denmark] ø (o with crossbar) within domain names

hi guys,

i know it's actually off-topic but i hope for you guys could give some 
hints "innately" :) :
is it possible/"practicable" to register a .com domain where the 
non-latin ø (o with crossbar) is in?
is this compatble with realurl?
what else do we have to care of when using that domain within typo3?

if i enter abcø.com in FF it's resolved as: http://www.xn--abc-2na.com/
??
