Hi all,
Just to let everyone know that there are things happening. I have been
working with Paul Sanderson and we now have hosting and a domain name.
Paul Bamber from http://ezihosting.com is providing space on a server
that will be optimised for typo3.
The domain name is cmsalliance.com.au, and was chosen because we liked
the concept of an "alliance" as this implies independence while
maintaining co-operation and collaboration. Also the idea of "Content
Management" broadly describes what we all do.
Those across the Tasman, or elsewhere, may consider getting
cmsalliance.com.nz so that you can put your own county's flavor on the
site. With all the features of typo3 it should be possible to
"regionalise" the site while allowing us all to contribute.
Bernie den Hertog, I believe is working on a logo and Paul Sanderson is
setting up the initial site, obviously there is a lot of work to be done
here so all of this isn't going to happen overnight but we should see
some major developments during July. So give these guys some time to get
the basics done then we will all be able to contribute.
If anyone has some content or suggestions for some sections, especially
if they wish to administer those sections, please let us know. I plan to
run a marketing section providing much needed information about selling
benefits, identifying markets and the development of large turnkey packages.
I also hope to see a "sandbox" section develop that demonstrates the
various plugins actually working. This would save everyone hours of
testing new plugins.
I am quite excited to see this resource develop, it is already creating
interest amongst several organisations i work with including a Chamber
of Commerce, a community based business development center and a hosting
company. These industry groups are keen to put EVERY small business out
there on the web and they want to be assured that there is ongoing IT
support for the choices they make.
