Hi Roger -

Hmm - indeed an interesting proposition. You say 25k websites would be a
nice target - I've worked on a few of those ($300k ones too) and the
amount of work to complete such large sites is staggering - As a
"community of consultants" I think we might have to target jobs a little
down the food chain first up (Well - speaking for myself anyway - Not
being familiar with others capacities.. I'm thinking sole practitioners
here networking vs multiple firms)

I think Typo is a fantastic tool that I'm really excited about and just
getting to grips with - in a design sense it leaves PHP and postnuke et
al for dead - its got enormous creative freedom and its free / open
ended to boot :)

As a marketing tool - its almost unprecedented - and a community website
(australian specific) would be a huge boon not only locally but
worldwide as a means of showing off the potential power of Typo. The
trick here is NOT to reinvent the wheel and try to pull content from the
central repository.

Hence - I feel the mainstay of the website is to promote Typo3 in
australia - and the australian "consultants" we have, in order to: a)
land bigger jobs b) promote dynamic websites as a whole and c)
potentially broaden all our skill sets but focus on what we all do best.

I'm happy to help out in whatever capacity and limited timeframe I can
input. :)

sounds great to me ! :)

I think you might need to elaborate somewhat on what your eluding to
here - Documentation of Typo ? Training ? is this to duplicate typo3.org
or complement ?

count me in :)

to design any website - we would need to develop a brief - and concept
(sketches - ideas - thoughts et al)

Absolutely. :)

I think locals meeting locals is definately a boon - but ultimately, for
a ug to work australia wide - we will require some form of meeting
method. I suggest an IRC channel might be a good idea too long term (?)
eg - #typo3aug on quakenet would be a logical starting point ?

All sounds like fun !
