Hi Bernie,

quick answer:
* export your db to a sql file
* set up your live site with the dummy package making sure you have the 
same extensions installed
* upload fileadmin, typo3conf (not the localconf.php or temp_CACHED 
files), typo3temp and uploads folders
*upload you db sql file to your live db
*using the install tool db analyser do a "compare" and update the 
necessary tables

should then work
