[Typo3-UG Australia] receipe plugin

Hi Roger,
That site using the Recipe plugin looks great. Good to see Typo put into
practice on an Australian website.
I'm hoping to start programming an Typo3 extension for a collegue of mine.
He is now the main developer for Mailgust ( http://www.mailgust.org ). Any
pitfalls you can suggest I can avoid when starting extension development?
