Sometimes, you see a star on the red carpet and think, "What the heck is that person wearing?" And then you start seeing that fashion trend everyone and can't seem to figure out what is going on in the world. Well, luckily, the really bad fashion trends usually end. Some of them may last forever, like the Jumpin Jammerz footy pajama trend seen all over the world, but some of them will quickly fade. Here are a few trends noted by CNN to be missing from 2014 collections.
Peplum waist
You know what a babydoll style is, right? Well imagine that same kind of shirt except it stays fitted through the waist before loosening out at the end? That was a style seen everywhere in 2013. It wasn't very flattering and pretty much made girls look like they were getting chubby in their bellies. So, luckily, 2014 collections will not keep up the trend.
Denim that is washed or colored and neon
Another trend that we saw was denim being used for all kinds of different pieces of clothing, though it was faded or washed into a different kind of color. This was one of the 2013 fashion trends that spread like wildfire. Along with it was the bright neon colors, leading to everyone pretty much looking like they came out of a bad 80s movie. Maybe the way the clothes fit was a lot better, but the look of it certainly didn't improve much. In 2014, you won't have to worry about this blast from the past as much anymore. There may be bright color still, but at least they won't be quite as neon.
Crop tops
Another trend from the past that made the people of today look awful was the crop top. We can thank Miley Cyrus for bringing back some of the punk clothes nobody wanted to see again. The crop top, similar to cutouts in dresses, means you can see a person's whole stomach area, though it isn't very tastefully done. Most of these tops made girls look as if they didn't have a chest or that they were trying too hard to wear less clothes. And while we're on the topic, let's hope that none of the 2013 fashion trends from Miley cyrus make it into 2014. That girl wears the most outlandish clothing that does look good on anyone.
What 2013 trends will stay?
One thing we noticed in 2013 was more casual clothing, such as baggy sweaters and footy pajamas. These kinds of things will continue into the new year, mostly because they are comfortable, will keep you warm, and can be worn with your friends still. It's good to know the comfortable clothes and trends will stay in the new year.
