[TYPO3-workspace] Merging

Dear Group,

Has there ever been a discussion about the possibility of adding a merging functionality to the workspaces module? We are working on a project where we would like to do selective merges based on the diffs of two versions.
We have stumbled upon google's diff-match-patch library (http://code.google.com/p/google-diff-match-patch<http://code.google.com/p/google-diff-match-patch/>/<http://code.google.com/p/google-diff-match-patch/> ) which could be a nice basis. Right now we're looking if we can create some kind of extension around this. Before diving in to this it would be nice to know if plans to create something like this already exist.
