I tried it.

After first getting a "this page is beeing generated" page, I was logged
in. Mantis told me that I'm logged in with my user name, level =
reporter. That's right for the top level.

So I selected a project where I'm normally on a higher level, not just
reporter. But it still told me that I'm reporter.

(Yes, both usernames on bugs.typo3.org and typo3.org are the same)

Please have an eye on this before really switching over to this
authentication method.
