Sorry, but it didn't work for me:

   <ul>
     <li class="list" id="firstlist">aldfkj</li>
     <li class="list">asdfjls</li>
     <li class="list">oqiwei</li>
   </ul>

This HTML in the template (with dummy content in the listitems)

When I map a field on the second li, the RANGE option is available, but 
on the first li it still doesn't show up...

Tested against $Id: index.php 30578 2010-02-27 15:39:30Z tolleiv $
