Hi,
the following patch was commited to trunk (rev 26929) .

Problem:
Due to fixed hardcoded SQL string quoting the TO's rendertype=print 
features can't be used together with DBAL.

Solution is to use fullQuoteString() where required.

Xavier Perseguers  provided the patch, I reviewed and committed it.
