Man, you are definitely shooting too fast.
Why should we discuss about the colors we should use for the interface, when
there is no interface to colorize yet?
IMHO we should try to do things step by step and when creating a prototype
you don't start with painting it, you have to build it first.
Or in other words: Form follows function!

I think, if we really want to do something for the 5.x branch, we should
just throw away anything that has been done before and start from scratch.
We should even think about doing something that is not based on HTML, CSS
and AJAX/JavaScript since as far as I understood the new branch will be a
real framework that will give us the freedom of choice for any kind of BE
interface we could imagine. At the T3DD07 Robert told me that even things
like a real client (typo3client.exe or something) or maybe an Eclipse based
interface will be possible.
So maybe it would be a good idea to setup a wiki page where people could
list their personal favourites and we discuss what will be the best
solution.
