It wasn't me so, yet I feel this could have been phrased a bit more friendly.

Oh yes!

And an updated browser check! Not necessarily a lock out, but at least a 
warning. There are two types: browser type know as incompatible (eg IE 5.0) 
or unkown. The warning should be different.
