Hi !

Yesterday I proposed a change in the UI of the clipboard.

Instead of the button switchin between copy&cut mode I introduced
a dropdown box for this task:

Thread in the core-list:

(second Bugtracker ID wrong in subject)

Probably all of you know the problems with buttons in HCI applications:
* Does a button represent the current state/status of the interface/application
* Or does a button represent the action taken when pressed.

-----------
If you take the case of a real-world problem:
A light-switch in your flat or office it's clear. The light-switch represents
the current status. If its in upper position it's probably off - if it's in the
lower position the lights are on (or vice versa - depending on how your electrics
are cabled :)

so it represents the current state - probably indicated by some leds:

I think by replacing the current "uninformative" icons by a drop down which shows the
current state by selecting the correct <option> tag - and allows to select the wanted
copy mode - you have a great plus in usability.

Please test the patch if you have time and are interested in this case - and give a veto
or plus in the core list.

thx,
Bernhard
