Hello,

As mentioned in "Re: [TYPO3-hci] Usability Test" I suggest to conduct a
online-survey with the following aims:

- Get a wider and objective perspective on typo3-users and -usage.
- Get some undiscovered problems with TYPO3 and user's problems
- Get user's wishes.

I'd suggest the following phases:
A) Design a survey (here in this group)
B) Test the survey with 5-10 persons (for comprehensibleness).
C) Program the survey in PHP and mySQL and put it on a server
D) Promote the survey in the typo3-community and -site
E) Analyze data, correlations, etc. with SPSS
F) Produce a report
G) Be happy and look further

My very first (and rough) brainstorming for sections of the survey just
to illustrate the idea:

O) Getting opinions to certain topics:
- Please evaluate the following statements: "Typo3 is easy to use in
general" (scale: 1-6), "Installing Typo3 can be done without problems",
"Putting in content is comftable", ...

O) Where do you see demand for optimization the ease of use:
- ...

O) What extensions are you using (if admin / developer):
- TV / News / ...

O) Documentation:
- Is it easy to find, helpful, how did you learn typo3?

O) Information about the users:
- You are using typo3 as (developer, editor, fe-editor....)
- How old are you?
- Are you selling typo3-services to customers?
- How long you've been using typo3?
- Did you ever: develop an extension, upload an extension, install typo3,...

What do you think of a survey?
