Hi Søren,

when i create users they have plain password. Could it be, that you have
installed an extension that does the md5 hash thing?

Hi Sebastian,

Maybe my email wasn't clear enough. I am in fact talking about fe_users, and
the task of creating those in the backend (in a SysFolder).
Try creating a fe_user in TYPO3 4.2, and tell me if that user gets a hashed
password.

sorry, but i dont get the point. felogin belongs together with fe_users not
be_users.

So it cant work like you described.

I don't know if I'm the only one having the problem. But I simply can't get
backend user creation to work together with felogin. Creating users in the
backend causes hashed passwords by default, which felogin can't handle by
default.

Is it just me? Because it's quite annoying. So if it's not just me, people
shouldn't be encouraged to upgrade before it has been fixed.

Create a project "feuserlist" and encourage people to upgrade to 4.2. 
Will anyone still provide support (bug fixes) for newloginbox in its old 
state? I doubt it.
