Yes, both will be possible.

Anything defined in the TCA and editable with TCEForms should work fine.

Sounds great.  We're shooting to have our stuff in for alpha 2 and once 
its ready to go there, we'll welcome any testing and coding help.

For what its worth, all the stuff above should work fine now with the 
EDITPANEL cObject.
