Hi all,

Good news from the party front! :-) Sven Kalbhenn has joined the Party
Information Framework project as a developer. He takes over the
party_view component, which will be built upon lib/div. I would like to
officially welcome Sven and thank you for your engagement in this
crucial part of the Party Information Framework!

Personally, I have been working on the backend and on creating test data
which we can use for unit tests and for proving that the framework can
handle a fair amount of data. The test set contains more than 2,500
parties and a total number of over 44,000 records. Furthermore, I keep
in touch with Christoph Koehler and Marc Stephenson from the
Web-Empowered Church. They are currently planning a new Church
Management extension which will be using the Party Information Framework.

The backend is now fully functional, although a lot of things are
obviously still missing or in a pre-alpha state. I have made heavy use
of IRRE, so TYPO3 4.1 is a strict prerequisite.

I invite you all to check out the latest release from Subversion
(tx_party) and to install the test data (tests/test_data.sql). The
records are all written to PID 1 so make sure this page is as
sys-folder. And don't forget to set the "General Records Storage Page"
to that same page as well.

As of next week, I will start to build the model part of the API,
enabling Sven to start with the integration of party_view. Since this is
the first time I will be working with lib/div, I'm not sure how much
time this will take. We'll see....

All feedback and all helping hands are welcome!

Have a nice weekend,
Dave
