I agree here. I don't use any pi_base stuff anymore, but haven't got a
generic set of methods for all stuff. The ECT have provided a nice start
on that area. In pi_base we have:

- Link "helpers": this already can be replaced by lib::tx_lib_link
- Localization, locallang functions: lib::tx_lib_translator

Still "to do", maybe some other library extension already provides these
kind of methods in a approach compatible to lib/div?

- Functions for listing, browsing, searching
- Stylesheet, CSS
- Frontend editing: Edit panel, edit icons
- Database, queries
- FlexForms related functions

kickstarter makes heavy use of the listing/browsing and database methods
of pi_base, so this would be the most important one to "port".
