This is really great news! Thomas, it looks like you have been quite
busy with RBAC. Great to hear! There has also been talk on some joint
work going on between phpGroupware and eZcomponents so I think this is
definitely a step in the right direction. It may even bring eGroupware
back to phpGroupware as an engine, who knows. Definitely exciting times
though!
Guys, do you see this RBAC project fitting into phase 3 of the Party
Information Framework? It would be great to have a relation between the two.
Thomas, what is your take on using an existing project like LiveUser or
phpGACL compared to the XACML standard?
Also, what about libraries like Zend_Acl and Sympfony's Action Security?
I prefer Zend_Acl just because it would probably become the norm and
have a lot more expert eyes on it.
But what happens then for a UI? Would it be possible to modify one of
the above?
Or would we have to build our own? Maybe based on on article 4 of
sqlrecipes.
And same goes for working in the XACML standard.
See Thomas' Wiki discussion[1] if you're interested and all this is as
clear as mud.
Cheers,
David
