[TYPO3-ect] lib/div with services - would that be an option?

Hi list,

I know that most of you might be snowboarding now - however I got a little question. Lately I used tx_cal a lot and got used to the way it works. As you might know it's also a MVC but it's mainly based on services. I found this way very interesting and it came handy when I had to modify/extend some parts of tx_cal.

Now my question: what do you think about also base lib/div on services? Would that be a good option or would it have more disadvantages (slower or whatever)?

As example I was thinking of maybe a rendering-service. This way a developer could simply override the default php-template system in general with his preferred one and doesn't have to write extension_addons for every extension from TER he uses? Don't know if this makes sense at all - but sounds at least good to me ;)
