If we generate /ect/licenses we will have /core/licenses and
/v5/licenses next. The result would be the opposite of coordination.

That's why I prefer:

/licenses

/ect/licenses -> /licenses
/core/licenses -> /licenses

etc.

You are right in one point: Common goods are seldom as well protected as
private goods. How many trains and public telefone are damaged comparing
private cars and telephones? The more people, the lesser the personal
feeling for responsibility.

But the common experience is not allways valid for open source. If you
share a bread it will shrink. If you share information, it will grow.
