[TYPO3-ect] TCA extensions

Hi All,
   sooner or later any forms libraries that works with the TCA is going 
to want to start adding. Eg 
TCA.fe_users.columns.location.config.type=googlemap

Has anyone done any work toward standardising in this direction or is 
the sum of this work various adhoc extended interpretations?
Particularly in regard to db relationship management.
