Hi,
you might be wondering what has happened with the Party Information
Framework since the kick-off at T3DD in Dietikon. Well, unfortunately,
not very much.
Robert Lemke has informed me that it is still not known when the
commercial project (which shall become the core-extension tx_party) is
going to start. He is optimistic that the project will happen and has
asked us to wait until the end of October 2006.
In my opinion, it would be a mistake not to wait on Robert, but I am
open to hear your opinions on this point.
Due to the delay, Olly Hader has decided to change the subject of his
diploma thesis to "Inline Relational Editing" and will therefore not be
able to contribute to the Party Information Framework in the context of
his diploma thesis. I fully understand his decision and wish Olly all
the best for his new topic. Actually, I am very much looking forward to
his results, as I am certain that they will be very valuable not only
for the Party Information Framework but for all extensions handling
complex data.
Personally, I am working on a concept for the migration/synchronization
part. As soon as the results are ready for a public discussion, I will
post again.
Sorry for all of you who are waiting for the real action to start. I
will keep everybody informed as soon as there are any news.
Greetings,
Dave.
