well, the overall responsibility of the xajax-extension has Elmar Hinz. 
I have to say, that I hear nothing from him for a longer time now !?!?!

Concerning your change-requests:
I can not speak for Elmar, but I would say, that your first point 
"changing the js-file" is not an ideal way, because, as mentioned 
earlier, it is a third-party-extension.
Your second point, "changing parameters of xajax (e.g. statusmessages, 
debug, input- and output-encoding) through TS" is a point, which can be 
integrated without any problems.

But this is only my opinion, Elmar has the last word.
