Yes. TYPO3 makes use of it in index.php a lot for example.

It's basically a simple timetracking, but the good thing is, you can follow 
it in the admin panel.

If it's extensivly used, it makes sense changing the admin-panel-tt-display 
in some ways to make it more useful. At the moment, it's quite simple.
