Sounds good. Just wondering how 'complete' the library should be. Just
displaying and validating forms, or full support for multipage surveys and
such.
I am very much for the former; it should do everything that has to do with
displaying forms, help, and errors, as well as validate and configure
them, and do that well.
If someone wants to write a survey extension using the library, that's
fine, but I don't think it should be able to do everything, just one thing
really really well.
We will probably have our first skype meeting on thursday this week, so if
you could have at least a general idea ready that would be awesome, if
not, there is pleny of other stuff to talk about.
Here is a preliminary list of topics for Thursday:
-Target audience. Who are we doing this for?
-Goal. What are we even doing? Just a more low-level way to make
forms, display and validate them, or a full solution that can generate
multipage surveys out of the box?
-Interface. How will those people use our library? Once we set an
interface, other people can start planning on using it while we are
still working on all the internals. I would like the interface not to
change, so this will be a pretty big decision (that we don't have to
make yet; just talk about it)
-requirements. What do people want for forms? There is a list of that
on the wiki which I think might be a little too exhaustive. Maybe we
should focus on the majority of people first and do a good job on the
main features (forms, labels, help popup, required fields) before
moving on to rarely used things; splitting it up will make it easier
to code and manage, too.
