Hello members of ECT,
the year 2005 comes to it's end. It is time for reviews of the year.
After we have successfully founded the ECT I think we are authorised to
vote for an extension of the year.
The time is to short now, to have a broad discussion upon the finding
process, but not to short to find some results. I think we should
commonly define a finding process for next year. For this year I simply
state it. We will do it in a similar way as the german "Game of the
year". First collecting a list of proposals, discuss and vote it by the
team.
The rules:
*) The extension of the year needs to be first published in 2005.
*) It needs to be proposed during the proposal period until 31.12.05.
*) Nobody is allowed to propose his own extensions.
*) A founded text upon justification has to be sent in with the
proposal. (Needed for the list of proposals and the official annoncement)
*) All and only proposals with appropriate text, go into the list of
proposals. Closed and published on 31.12.2005 in the wiki.
*) Discussion and voting takes part from 1. - 6. January only on
proposals in this list.
*) Every member has 5 votes. He can give more then one for an extension.
Voting takes part in public in the mailing list/news list.
*) You can vote from 1.- 6. january (12:00 *UTC*) (If you want to read
the discussion first you should vote on the last days.)
*) Only team members that signed up the team in the wiki are allowed to
vote + Kasper.
*) The winner is the extension with best voting.
*) The winner is announced on evening of Epiphany (6.January) and get's
the official label "Extension of the year 2005 - voted by the Extension
Coordination team"
*) The voting only takes part if we have at least 5 proposal on the
proposal list (with justification text)
*) The voting only is successfull when at least 8 people give a vote.
Otherwise there is no winner.
You can send in proposals for the proposal list right now. Remember to
supply a justification appropriate for the announcement of the winner.

P.S.
Is anybody interested to design a logo for the contest?
