[TYPO3-core] Problem with git commit message hook

I can confirm this: I had the same issue yesterday (using Ubuntu 14.04).
I did not have the time to investigate the script, but used the version 
before, which works perfectly fine.

As far as I know "checkForReleases" has been added lately. Maybe a side 
effect?
