Dear Extbase enthusiasts,

on behalf of the TYPO3 CMS team and the Extbase Team I want to bring you
the following announcement:

The former separate team dedicated to improving and maintaining Extbase
has been merged into the TYPO3 CMS Development Team. Factually the team
consisted of active contributors in the past and were tightly integrated
in the activity of the TYPO3 CMS team anyway. One last meeting deciding
the dissolution of the team took place during the T3CON some weeks ago.

This change means that the responsibility of maintaining Extbase is now
in the hands of the whole TYPO3 CMS Team, and guided by it's principles,
rules and structure (see
http://typo3.org/teams/core-development-team/roles-groups/). The former
Extbase Team members are part of this, in that they share an "area of
expertise" (which is Extbase / Fluid) and their actions in this area are
fully endorsed by the whole team based on trust.

It is important to emphasize that Extbase will continue to be actively
maintained - now by a larger team, sharing the responsibility.

The community and the CMS Release team would like to thank Anja
Leichsenring and Felix Oertel for their dedication and endurance during
the past years on leading the team. Both will continue their work on
Extbase/Fluid as active contributors to the Core. Anja has done a
tremendous job in organizing Code Sprints, Meetings, taking difficult
decisions and being always present with ideas and her expert know how.
Felix contribution and dedication to Extbase in the past were also very
valuable for shaping the final product.

Kind regards,
Ernesto
