[TYPO3-core] Hook to exchange / overlay the pagetype icon based on other fields

Hello Guys,

for EXT:THEMES we want to implement sth. called page roles.

A page role is similar referenceable like a uid, but inside a branch of
the pagetree.

Typical examples are:

	legal information
	imprint
	contact

To show the role of the page in the pagetree i wanted to use an overlay
or a different icon (but i do not want to replace the pagetype!).

The only hook i found, which can be suitable is:

$GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['SC_OPTIONS']['t3lib/class.t3lib_iconworks.php']['overrideIconOverlay'][]

As far as i understood i need to define the

Is there a better / recommend way to overlay an icon of an entry in the
pagetree?
