[TYPO3-core] Collections?

Hi there

Collections are a part of the FAL work. The original plan was to have a 
versatile, new list module called Vidi based on ExtJS 4, first to be 
used to display and filter assets.

To be able to display the results of filter actions in the Frontend, 
there should have been static and dynamic collections. A static 
collection could be a collection of image a, b, c and d. A dynamic 
collection could be all images of category foo.

As you all know, the ExtJS 4 migration was dropped and Vidi with it. 
Therefore the collections are not used until now.

Still they could be used in the same way for EXT:Media where fudriot is 
developing a file management module. Think of it as a more advanced 
versions of the "selections" in DAM.

BTW, Media will also use the categorization API - yet another feature 
that is in the Core but not (yet) used by the core itself.
