[TYPO3-core] FAL handling of missing files

Hi all,

Two days ago a patch was merged entitled "Introduce handling of missing 
files" [1]. Does it address the fact that the Filelist module throws an 
**uncaught** exception when a physical file is missing for a FAL record?

I see that this patch is targeted at 6.2 only. Does it mean that 6.0 and 
6.1 have to live with an unusable BE? The patch seems quite complicated. 
Could there be a simpler version for 6.0 and 6.1 which just catches the 
exception?
