[TYPO3-core] Where did the debug() function go in 6.0?

Hi all,

There used to be a general debug() function declared in 
t3lib/config_default.php. Where has it gone now that this file does not 
exist anymore?

I tried searching for "debug()" in the source code. Unsurprisingly it 
turned up quite a few results but none that seemed to match. I may have 
missed it though. Any hint would be appreciated (it's for updating the 
documentation BTW).
