[TYPO3-core] how to contribute to "version", "workspaces", "extbase", "fluid", "dbal" and "linkvalidator"?

hi everybody,

i already contributed to the TYPO3 v4 core and would like to contribute to
system extensions "version", "workspaces", "dbal", "extbase", "fluid" and
"linkvalidator".

i am not sure if i can use exact the same workflow like i used for patches
for the TYPO3 v4 core. these extensions are git-modules (i don't know if
this is the correct naming) and therefore i guess i have to clone the
projects separately.

i found e.g. the "workspaces" repository on forge.typo3.org, but i could
not find the rpositoy for "version". where can i find it?

i guess i will have to push to gerrit? any specialities involved compared
to the TYPO3 v4 core?
