[TYPO3-core] admin panel tree view broken

Hi,

anyone willing to look into http://forge.typo3.org/issues/39302 and 
especially willing to figure out why it broke?
That code was not modified since the initial commit by Kasper back in 
2004-09-09 02:26:26.

I remember it to be working in older versions of TYPO3.
