Hi dear TYPO3 enthusiasts,

after a long time in the incubator repository, the results of the File
Abstraction Layer found its way to review.typo3.org. Preliminary one
need to mention that there are still some known flaws [1] and you might
find some more remarks or bugs - that's exactly why the thing was put to
Gerrit now. But please consider that this feature, one of the most
enormous changes since TYPO3 4.0, would feel quite well in TYPO3 4.7 and
thus hopefully finds it way in before TYPO3 4.7-beta1 - which is
scheduled for next Tuesday and will be released "live from the T3BOARD12
in Laax/Switzerland"...

Here's the umbrella issue for all tasks:

Since many of the changes are built on others and dependencies might get
lost in Gerrit by uploading a new change set, here's the sequence of
issues - the order of how changes need to be applied:

https://review.typo3.org/#change,9205 -> basic TCEforms
https://review.typo3.org/#change,9206 -> basic TCEforms/IRRE
https://review.typo3.org/#change,9207 -> basic TCEforms/IRRE

https://review.typo3.org/#change,9208 -> FAL Basic API - the start
https://review.typo3.org/#change,9209 -> Database, TCA, Labels, Upgrade
https://review.typo3.org/#change,9210 -> FAL in the Backend
https://review.typo3.org/#change,9211 -> FAL in the Frontend
https://review.typo3.org/#change,9212 -> Scheduler Tasks for Indexing

Some of the patches have a lot of changes, but hopefully that does not
frighten you and you still are keen on reviewing and testing this new

Thanks to everybody being involved and especially to the "new ones" for
putting in their efforts during the last few days and weeks. Thanks on
behalf of the whole TYPO3 FAL Team!

Rock on!
