Really? Let's see the facts:

- Windows Vista shipped with IE7 and (extended) support ends 4/11/2017
- Windows Server 2008 shipped with IE7 and (extended) support ends 
7/10/2018
- Windows 7 shipped with IE8 and (extended) support ends 1/14/2020
- Windows Server 2008 R2 shipped with IE8 and (extended) support ends 
7/10/2018
- IE9 wasn't shipped as default browser with any version of Windows and 
support ends with Windows 7 on 1/14/2020

In short, we're stuck with:
- IE7 : July 10th, 2018
- IE8 : January 14th, 2020
- IE9 : at least January 14th, 2020

I'm pretty sure that 4.9 will be released before 2020. I'd say we 
desperately need a fall back for IE7-9.
