I found the problem ... on line 478 in git-review is a call:

$GIT svn info >/dev/null 2>/dev/null &&
 die "$this does not support git-svn repositories."

The "git svn info" call takes forever. As I know that I will not use git on 
svn repositories, I just commented out those lines.
