Oops, of course you're right.

v4 uses $GLOBALS['TSFE']->logDeprecatedTyposcript() correctly und produces deprection log entries like:

14-01-11 15:13: TypoScript config.doctype = html_5 is deprecated - It will be removed in TYPO3 4.7. 
Use html5 instead.
