Same as in the pages TCA.

As soon as there is an array key named "checkbox" within the setup of a 
regular input field, it will get a checkbox attached, that will enable 
the user to clear the input value with a single click.

In former T3 versions this was rendered as a real checkbox at the left 
side of the input field.
In 4.5 it will appear as a right aligned icon within the input field it 
belongs to.
