Sorry for not having followed on this issue anymore, I got overloaded 
with other stuff.

SteffenG, was that a +1 from you or or not?

I'm +1 after reading and testing this patch, for both 4.4 and trunk. It 
restores the previous behavior of the frontend preview which is 
currently completely mangled.
