Friendliness has very little to do with the length of error messages. A 
system can be friendly and helpful by supplying ways to track problems 
(helps developers to solve problems more easily, so other users will not 
have that problem any more), providing links to documentation (e.g. 
search for exception ID), etc.

Not to self: start tradition of writing little poems for error/exception 
messages ;-)
