Hey Ralf,

I'd suggest this:

  * Do "method autodetection" when installing TYPO3 inside the 1-2-3
installer
  * Create an update wizard that autodetects the recommended method but
only if the TYPO3_CONF_VARS option is empty (thus, probably hasn't been
explicitly set in the localconf.php)

Do you think you can get this in on time for TYPO3 4.5?
