great to see this feature in core!
One thing I noticed though, is that the classes and php files do not 
adhere to the naming conventions for core classes and files.

Christian, can you or somebody else please take care of making sure to 
add the tx_ prefix? I'd rate this as a minor follow-up which doesn't 
need new reviews...
