To my knowledge, em_* awareness is not desired. Christian (Kuhn) and
Ingo have recently discussed this off-list and prefer to have tx_em_*
classes allover the new EM.

So I'd delay this RFC and expect a statement from Christian and Ingo
anytime soon on this topic.
